Three Phase Separator Plant (with optional platform)-Introduces theprocess of gas or air, a liquid hydrocarbon, and waterto the three-phase separator,is separated, then returned to the individual storage units and sent back through the process. A closed loop system uses a customized industrial tank with educational specific cutouts for student visualization. The system consists of control valves, air blower, pumps, and standard equipment that a process technician typically encounters while operating a plant, and showing the specific theories related to three phase separation.

Students are able to vary the level upstream of the weir, vary the temperature of the air by adjusting the cooling water flow, shut down the water pump, the oil pump, simulate a valve failure of a pressure controller, troubleshoot and take corrective action for proper start up.
